Since 2009, I’ve been on an amazing journey in the tech world and loved every minute of it! It all began when I jumped right in after university and co-founded my own tech company with my friend, John Goodall. I remember those early days like they were yesterday: late nights, endless brainstorming sessions, and a whole lot of laughs. John handled the development side of things while I threw myself into everything on the front end – from brand identity and market fit to sales strategy and product marketing. We were a scrappy duo, driven by pure passion and a bit of madness!
Our little company, ChattBack, was born with the help of a local investor who believed in our vision. We worked tirelessly to bring our idea to life, navigating the ups and downs that come with starting a new business. And you know what? It worked! ChattBack is still around today, growing and evolving, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we accomplished. It was in those early days that I realized my true calling: helping unique companies grow and thrive.
I discovered pretty quickly that I had a knack for setting strategic goals and finding innovative ways to optimize revenue streams. There’s something incredibly satisfying about taking a big, bold idea and turning it into a well-oiled machine. Whether it’s a Fortune 500 company, or a scrappy startup like we were back in the day, I love the challenge of creating a growth engine that’s tailor-made for each organization.
Building demand? I geek out over data and analytics, using them to make smart, informed decisions that drive real results. There’s a certain thrill in diving deep into the numbers and emerging with a strategy that’s not just creative, but also backed by solid data.
One of the secrets to my success is my unwavering commitment to the 3 C’s of storytelling and positioning: clarity, consistency, and being concise. I believe that a great story, well told, can move mountains. It’s all about finding that sweet spot where a brand’s message is clear, consistent, and to the point. No fluff, no jargon, just a compelling story that resonates with the audience.
